Your primary purpose - deine primäre Aufgabe (E. Tolle)

Your primary purpose is to be here fully and be total in what you do so that your actions are not just means to an end. It means not allowing the preciousness of this moment to become reduced to a mere means to an end (e.g. trying to get to a better now in the future). Because you are trapped in the mind somehow, you are always living for the next thing, for a future. But where is the future? It's a thought in your head, a phantom you are running after. The next moment is not better than this one. Instead of being trapped like this you can become aligned with the now, with the aliveness of life itself instead of inhabiting a conceptual universe that is dead.

Deine vorrangige Aufgabe ist es, völlig hier zu sein und total in deinem Tun sein, damit deine Aktivitäten nicht nur ein Mittel zum Zweck sind. Das bedeutet, die Kostbarkeit dieses Augenblicks nicht zu einem reinen Mittel zum Zweck zu reduzieren (z.B. versuchen, zu einem besseren Jetzt in der Zukunft zu gelangen). Da du irgendwie in deinem Denken gefangen bist, lebst du ständig für den nächsten Moment, für eine Zukunft. Aber wo ist die Zukunft? Es ist ein Gedanke in deinem Kopf, ein Phantom, dem du nachläufst. Der nächste Moment ist jedoch nicht besser als dieser. Anstatt so gefangen zu sein, könntest du dich auf das Jetzt ausrichten, auf das Lebendig-Sein des Lebens selbst, anstatt ein rein konzeptuelles Universum zu bewohnen, das so gut wie tot ist.
